Join the Vermillion Stewards and Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) for a workshop, “Landscape for the River,” on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, 6-8 p.m., in a new venue — the Angry Inch Brewery in Lakeville. Sample the suds while learning how to turn your backyard into a river-friendly force for protecting and improving water quality in the Vermillion River Watershed. Topics of discussion will include: reducing sidewalk salt in runoff, landscaping with native plants, installing a rain barrel, composting, and creating a raingarden. This free workshop requires pre-registration, so contact Amy Kilgore at FMR (email@example.com) or visit the FMR website (www.fmr.org) to reserve your place.
The Angry Inch is a newly opened taproom at 20841 Holyoke Ave. in Lakeville, which boasts “Angry Beer for Happy People.” Besides several flagship craft beers, the Angry Inch is open Wednesday through Sunday, has a dog-friendly patio area, and holds various community events.
