The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources issued new fishing regulations (see page 43 of the online booklet) for the Vermillion River in April 2016. The regulations apply to brown trout and rainbow trout within a 19.5-mile reach from the Highland Avenue Bridge in Eureka Township to the posted boundary 1.1 miles downstream from the U.S. Hwy. 52 Bridge, including all tributaries to their source. Note to self: 80 percent of the land along the Vermillion River is privately owned, so make sure to respect private property owners and don’t trespass.
