Landscaping for Clean Water registration LIVE

Create an addition to your home landscaping that is not only attractive, but will benefit our lakes, streams, and wetlands! Landscaping for Clean Water classes will help you beautify your landscape and provide cleaner water.

Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting three LIVE virtual courses and one in-person class in partnership with VRWJPO and other watershed organizations in Dakota County. The free introduction classes provide an overview of local water quality challenges and provide beautiful and practical ways of reducing runoff pollution. You will also learn about financial incentives to help you install your own raingarden, native garden, or shoreline stabilization.

All introduction classes will begin at 6 p.m.:

TUESDAY, MARCH 7

Via Zoom

MONDAY, APRIL 3

IN-PERSON at Eagan City Hall

WEDNESDAY, MAY 3

Via Zoom

THURSDAY, JUNE 8

Via Zoom

Registration in the intro class is open to everyone, Dakota County residency not required.

Want to participate, but can’t make the live event? The introduction class will also be offered as a pre-recorded option, so you won’t miss a beat in learning how you can plant for clean water this year.

After attending an introductory class, sign up for the $25 design workshop where you will receive design assistance to create a functioning raingarden specific to your own yard and potentially earn grant funds from Dakota County SWCD. If you already have a raingarden, native garden, or shoreline stabilization, you can attend the free maintenance workshop, held virtually on March 23 at 5 p.m.

Participation in the introductory classes is free, but registration is required. Visit www.dakotaswcd.org to register for any of the sessions. Call 651-480-7777 or email LCW@co.dakota.mn.us for more details.
