County wetland volunteer program featured at Minnesota State Fair

Dakota County’s Wetland Health Evaluation Program (WHEP) will be a featured community science program in the Eco-Experience building at the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday, Sept. 4 and Monday, Sept. 5. WHEP volunteers will highlight that small animals such as insects, snails, worms, crayfish, and clams (macroinvertebrates), as well as plants living in wetlands can inform us if it is healthy or unhealthy. Kids will take the Macroinvertebrate Challenge and win a prize. See a list of other Community Science Program of the Day exhibitors.
