Vermillion Stewards Tending the Old Mill Park Prairie in Hastings @ Old Mill Park

Join Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) and the Vermillion River Stewards in tending a welcoming prairie recently established in Old Mill Park in Hastings. Volunteers will weed and maintain the prairie, planted in 2014 by FMR ecologists and Hastings High School students. Pre-registration is required.

The City will have a number of staff members at the Show highlighting Emerald ash borer detection, buckthorn identification, and a chance to help steer its upcoming Surface Water Management Plan. Pick up a reusable dog bag holder and help keep our lakes clean!

This outdoor, farmers’-market-style event is open to all. In addition to multiple native plant vendors, there will be informational booths where attendees can talk with individuals from Dakota County Soil & Water Conservation District, Dakota County Master Gardeners, and the City of Burnsville natural resources group.
