Factsheets About Activities to Improve Water Quality Available in Spanish, Hmong

As part of implementing the Agricultural Chemical Reduction Effort Plan (ACRE), Dakota County Environmental Resources and Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) staff worked with a consultant, Environmental Initiative (nonprofit organization), to translate multiple SWCD factsheets into Spanish and Hmong.

During development of the ACRE Plan, the team engaged with the Hmong American Farmers Association (HAFA) to determine perspectives of how potential strategies and tactics would impact non-traditional farms. The need for culturally relevant outreach materials was identified so that farmers could learn about existing and new program offerings. The available factsheets provide information on cost-share opportunities to support cover crops, harvestable cover crops, and native prairie restorations. These landowner activities have multiple environmental benefits, including improved water quality.
