A nine-member citizen advisory Watershed Planning Commission (WPC) consists of eight members from Dakota County and one from Scott County. The WPC guides implementation of the watershed plan, annual work plans, and budget through recommendations to the Joint Powers Board.
The current Commissioners are: Mark Henry (chair), Chuck Clanton, Josh Borton, Steve Hamrick, Andy Riesgraf, and Jim Kotz. There are three positions open, set to begin terms in January 2022. Apply to be a Watershed Planning Commissioner by completing an application form for advisory groups in the county where you live: Scott County (one vacancy) or Dakota County (two vacancies). The WPC typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month (except November and December) at 4 p.m. in Conference Room A at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center in Farmington. Presently with the COVID-19 situation, we also offer Zoom as an option to participate. The links can be found on the meeting agendas or our online calendar.
