Watershed Planning Commission
A nine-member citizen advisory Watershed Planning Commission (WPC) consists of eight members from Dakota County and one from Scott County. The WPC guides implementation of the Watershed Plan, annual work plans, and budget through recommendations to the Joint Powers Board. The current Commissioners (as of April 2023) are: Jim Kotz (Chair), Josh Borton (Vice Chair), Steve Hamrick, Andy Riesgraf, Linda Larson, Sandra Weber, and Brad Blackett. Click on each commissioner’s photo below to learn more about them.
As of January 2023, there are two positions open: one in Scott County, one in Dakota County. Apply to be a Watershed Planning Commissioner by completing an application form for advisory groups in the county where you live: Scott County or Dakota County. To be eligible to serve on the WPC, you must live within the political boundaries of the Vermillion River Watershed (check in this map by typing your address in the top left).
The WPC typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month (except December) at 4:30 p.m. in Conference Room A at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center in Farmington. Check our online calendar for upcoming meeting dates.
